About 7 Balls Brewing

The 7BB Boys all grew up primarily in the surrounding area, and have known each other since grade school….We have been home brewing together for over 8 years (2 of the lads off/on, on their own over the past 25 years!), starting off in individual kitchens, but soon realizing what a mess we make and moved to a more industrial space to continue to conduct our hoppy & malty experiments!

The idea of a 7BB Taproom/Brewery has been Inspired and nudged along by an outpouring of local support of our delicious locally crafted beverages, as well as from friends and family: “You guys NEED to do this in Our downtown…For Real!”

With much soul searching (We are all “middle-aged” –ahem– and have full time jobs!) and beverage consumption we have decided this is the right thing to do for Bellows Falls, and as we all grew up here in this community and believe in it…We are the guys to see this through and make it happen!

As all great things: clubs, childhood tree forts, etc…. It basically originated from the initials in our four last names! Guys aren’t usually super clever. From there, we began swapping letters around until it made sense… toying with the extra “l” initially, and some of our OG logos may still be out there with an “(L)”, but eventually dropped it for aesthetics and ease of marketing.

Why the number 7? Well, while some of us did letter in sports in High School, and some of those sports included balls… One of us played a lot of Pool in college and his early 20s and had a history of running the table, but often “choking” on the 8 Ball….

The “nut” of our story is this: while we were toying with the initials on of the Brewers said, “Well, we could be BALLS, but we are missing an “L”…; one of the listening wives quipped, “Well, between the four of you, you are missing a Ball too!” A group laugh, and LOTS of discussion around the pros and cons of such a name, it stuck! 7 Balls Brewing, it is!

We realize there are a few out there who might be offended, but as with most of the craft beer community, we try to not take ourselves too seriously; and really–isn’t there enough other stuff out there going on in the Country and World to Really be offended by???  Let’s relax a little; Come over to 7BB and leave your outside troubles at the door (and even our name, if it really offends that much!)…we make some really decent, locally crafted beers, in a variety of popular styles and aim to serve them in a casual, relaxing atmosphere ~ Cheers!

While we don’t take ourselves at 7BB too seriously, we do take Testicular, and ALL, CANCER seriously and the reason to embrace the name, and what it represents….One of the Brewers had Testicular Cancer, and while he is now healthy and brewing/serving Beer most days, we from the get-go want to be part of the Fight against Cancer.

We have all lost friends and family to this ever-present disease and a portion of the 7BB proceeds will always go towards the Fight against Cancer. You can feel extra good about yourselves, knowing that whenever you are sampling/purchasing delicious 7 BB adult bevies or buying our rad merch, you will be doing something to aid in this fight, so from all of us at 7BB ~ Thanks!

The 7BB goal is to brew delicious Beer, and bring new people to our community in search of great beer, as well as support the local economy and give back to the community in several ways. We seek to become a welcoming, casual destination for newcomers to the area as well as an integral “local hangout” in the Bellows Falls/Rockingham community with Beers to sample, taste & drink…and have takeout Beer options for you to bring to your final destinations & enjoy at your leisure, wherever that may be…
